Bio

Venus Holloway Swatek is a native of Carrollton, GA. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of Georgia where she twirled as a majorette in the Redcoat Marching Band. She owned and operated Classic Steps by Venus in Bowdon, GA and directed the national title baton twirling team, the Georgia-Alabama Angels for eight years after college. Her twirling students held multiple one, two, and three baton regional, national, and world titles. 

Venus currently resides in Carrollton with her husband, Sean Swatek, who owns a pool store in Albertville, AL. Their daughter, Charli Allen Stephens, recently wed Flint Stephens, and they reside in Buckhead. 

Venus has served as an educator the last 25 years. She taught 4th and 5th grades at Sharp Creek Elementary where she was named the 2008 Teacher of the Year before transitioning to Central Middle School where she taught 6th grade and was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2015 and runner up TOTY for the district. She later served as an ELA intervention specialist for the district’s six middle schools. She was assistant principal at Central Elementary for five years. 

Mrs. Swatek attained a Master’s degree in K-12 Literacy Instruction and Curriculum from Lesley University and a Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. She added certification in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia in 2021.
