Thank you for visiting the Counselor's Corner at RES!
Distance Learning & Counseling During School Closure
In efforts to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, we are currently in a time of distance learning. We are practicing social distancing while we learn online and/or by paper packet prepared by our amazing teachers! Though these measures may seem drastic, it is important that we proceed in this way at this time in order to best protect the health and safety of all. Keep in mind, this is just a moment in time. This too shall pass.
Take a deep breath. We are all figuring this out together and it is OK that we don't have all the answers right now. Please give yourself and others unending grace as we navigate through these challenges together. It is important that we take care of our bodies, minds, and emotional health as well. Social Emotional Wellness is always of the utmost importance and we must make this a priority, especially during times of potentially heightened anxiety such as this.

As your school counselor, it is my goal to continue providing wellness check-ins for our students and families throughout our school closure. Although I am not physically in the building, I am accessible via email from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday - Friday.
RES Students may also reach out to me by filling out this form, Check-in with Mrs. Byers.
In an effort to also continue providing social emotional wellness instruction to students, I have created a Google Classroom and linked to the button below. Students will receive information from their teachers about how to join my classroom and connect with me there. I have also created a folder of resources for parents and linked it to the RES School Counseling Home Connection button below. Over the coming days, I will be adding items to this folder to help equip parents to best meet the social emotional needs of your child(ren) at home. I am committed to our students' mental wellness and overall success. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if I may be able to help you in some way.
You may reach me by email or direct line (please leave a voice message for a returned phone call within 48 business hours):

Students may also receive individual or small group counseling services. If you wish to refer your child for school counseling services, please contact the School Counselor.
